Wednesday Nights in Lent

Wednesday Nights in Lent

Each Wednesday night  during Lenten Evening Prayer, a different leader will explore a spiritual practice that helps connect us to the deeper, nourishing water of God’s love and forgiveness. These 30-minute services include songs, confession, a reading, prayer candles, and quiet time.
Dinner, 5:45 p.m.
Evening Prayer, 6:30 p.m.
At 6:30 p.m. each Wednesday in Lent, we will explore together a different spiritual practice to help ground us, finding living water that is our source for peace, freedom and a joy that transcends life’s difficulties. On March 19, Director of Musical Ensembles and Composer in Residence Dennis Friesen Carper will teach us about singing that is like praying a mantra, a repetitive set of words that calm the racing mind, connect us with one another and bring us deeper into the Spirit.
The speaker schedule for the weeks ahead includes:
March 26 – Pastor Jodi introduces us to a favorite practice
April 2 – Pastor Bradley talks about keeping silence and his joy/struggle with it.
April 9 – Pastor Osheta Moore joins us again to continue to help up focus on activism that is centered in prayer and contemplation on the beloved community.
Holy Week is April 13-19 with Easter Sunday on April 20.
