Housing

Gloria Dei celebrates that God has made a home for us! We long to build a community in which all people have access to safe and comfortable housing. Whether welcoming families during Project Home or swinging a hammer (… at nails!) during a Habitat for Humanity home build, there are opportunities big and small available to help with this important church outreach.
For more information, to get involved or to volunteer, contact the church office at 651699-1378.

Project Home

Two Sundays a month Gloria Dei serves supper and hosts Bingo for homeless families staying at Project Home at Provincial House on Randolph Avenue. Contact Marie Hanson to find out how you can help.
Habitat for Humanity
Each summer, Gloria Dei partners with Interfaith Builders, a coalition of Saint Paul churches and synagogues who have joined together to work with Habitat for Humanity to build safe, affordable homes for families in need. In addition to building homes, the group also builds relationships and understanding among parishioners from different faiths. Gloria Dei members participate in these initiatives by volunteering time, providing financial support or sharing a meal. Contact Matt Sherwood to learn more.

Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative

Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative is made up of over one hundred Twin Cities area faith communities that develop deeply affordable supportive sustainable housing and advocate to end homelessness in Minnesota. We believe that everyone is of value and deserves a place to call home. The Gloria Dei Beacon Team is involved by reaching out to elected officials to encourage them to champion legislation like Bring It Home, MN to remove barriers that prevent people from finding a home. Our activities include a financial commitment to Gladstone Crossing in Maplewood that, when completed, will provide over 40 units of supportive housing for young families.
