Safe Community at Gloria Dei
The Gloria Dei Congregation is committed to preventing sexual misconduct within the church and throughout our communities by rostered ministers, other employees, congregation members, participants, or volunteers, and to responding promptly with justice and compassion when such misconduct occurs. While there have been no reported incidents of this nature at Gloria Dei, the congregation’s council and human resources committee believe it is prudent to have a plan and process in place, in the event some misconduct is reported.
We already have processes in place for those who work with Children, Youth and Vulnerable Adults at Gloria Dei. As our church leaders build on that, in early 2021 we implemented a Policy on Reporting and Responding to Sexual Misconduct at Gloria Dei.
This flowchart outlines the process and actions to report sexual misconduct by a Gloria Dei rostered minister (pastor or deacon); by a Gloria Dei employee who is not a rostered minister; against a Gloria Dei volunteer who is a member of Gloria Dei; or against a Gloria Dei volunteer who is not a member of Gloria Dei.
