Soul Food, a group that discusses books from a faith perspective, meets weekly during the school year from 9:30-11 a.m., on Wednesday mornings. We begin each week with a prayerful reading of the coming Sunday’s gospel text and prayer. Then, we discuss a few chapters from a book we’ve chosen to read together, including time for questions, Bible study and personal reflection. You’re welcome to come for all or any of the discussions. Your presence will make our conversation that much more meaningful.
On September 11, we’ll begin a new year of discussions with Brené Brown’s, Braving the Wilderness: The Quest for True Belonging and the Courage to Stand Alone. For the last two decades, best selling author Brown has been studying courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy. In Braving the Wilderness, she invites us to face our vulnerability and the pain of life, and to discover our truest selves. All are welcome, and we hope you’ll join us.
